A friend of mine, Gilles Maes, is writing a thesis on readability, both online and offline. To make his research just a tad easier, he has set up a simple web survey. It speaks for itself that once he has received enough data, he will publish these results.

The idea is that you play around with the font family and size until you have found your favourite combination. Once you’ve done that, simply fill in the tiny little form saying why you prefer it. The reason why he is asking for your Age and Web experience is to have a better understanding of how certain audiences experience fonts.

Choosing your flavour is very simple. On the left side, you can click on each different sub menu: Mono space, Sans Serif, Serif & Font Size. When you click that item, a sub menu will fade in, giving you several options. By clicking any of those options, the text above the form will change.

Personally, I’m not really a fan of a certain font. I always pick the font that matches the subject. E.g. a “grunge” themed website should have a Serif font.

Click here and take part in this short survey!
